Appointments for 2nd dose of coronavirus vaccine will resume in July

The health ministry in Saudi Arabia will resume scheduling appointments for the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine starting in July, Al-Ekhbariya TV reported on Friday, citing a ministry of health official at one of the kingdom’s vaccination centers.

The ministry announced the postponement of second dose appointments on April 10 to provide the first dose of the vaccine to the maximum number of people, particularly those in high-risk groups.

The ministry earlier stated that the vast majority of the elderly population (60 years and older) had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in most parts of the kingdom.

On Friday, the health ministry reported 1,236 new coronavirus cases, 1,050 recoveries, and 15 mortalities in the kingdom.
