Coronavirus: 70 new cases reported in Saudi Arabia, totaling 344

Saudi Arabia today announced 70 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases in the kingdom to 344, according to the Ministry of Health.

The region-wise list of newly confirmed cases is as follows,

  • Riyadh – 49
  • Jeddah – 11
  • Makkah -2
  • Medina – 1
  • Dammam – 1
  • Dahran – 1
  • Qatif – 1
  • Al Baha – 1
  • Tabuk – 1
  • Bisha – 1
  • Hafar Al-Batin -1

Fifty-eight cases are due to contact with previous cases and are related to attending social occasions such as marriage parties, condolences, and family meetings.

Eleven cases have been identified in people coming from countries including Morocco, India, Jordan, the Philippines, Britain, the Emirates, and Switzerland. These 11 cases were isolated directly from the airport.

As of today, eight recoveries have been reported in the Kingdom, and 336 patients are currently in treatment.
