Covid-19: Saudi Arabia announces lockdown in Jeddah, extends curfew time

Saudi Arabia has announced a temporary lockdown in Jeddah as a measure to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The new measure prohibits residents of Saudi Arabia from entering or exiting the Jeddah governorate starting Sunday, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Starting today the recently announced curfew will begin at 3 p.m instead of 7 p.m. says Saudi Press Agency.

Last week, King Salman approved measures banning residents from traveling between different areas of the 13 regions of the Kingdom.

On Thursday, Riyadh, Makkah and Medina were also placed on lockdown and curfew times were extended to start at 3 p.m., instead of 7 p.m.
