Saudi Arabia will host the Dakar Rally 2020, one of the most famous grueling desert rallies in the world, on Jan. 5, 2020, bringing the Rally to the Asian continent for the first time.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Sports Authority (GSA) stressed that the launch of the Saudi Dakar Rally 2020, is the fruit of the rational leadership’s confidence, determination and ambition for more achievements in our country’s march of pride towards accomplishing the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
In a press conference held in Qiddiya this evening to disclose the details of the Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia 2020, which will be held in the Kingdom from 5 to 17 January 2020.
He said “As Dakar Rally is about to be launched here in the Kingdom’s land, the world will see through its tours the picturesque nature of our country and its magnificent desert, and the world will come closer than ever to the hospitality of the Kingdom’s people who are looking forward to welcoming the world. Here the rally will make the history of a new chapter in Asia, the pages of which begin in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
The press conference was held in the presence of Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF).
