The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has revealed that it will start imposing an Airport Building Charge on domestic flights from Jan. 1, 2020 Arab News reported.
The new fee for a one-way trip will be SR 21 (Including SR 10 for departure airport, SR 10 for arrival airport and SR 1 VAT).
The fee for the round trip will be SR 42 and SR 87 when a passenger books a domestic air carrier at a local international departure terminal.
Airlines will collect the fees from passengers by adding the charge to the ticket price.
However, there will be an exemption for four categories: Infants, passengers staying on board and not using airport facilities, members of the crew on duty, and members of aircraft registered on the list of airline pilots who have IDs.
The new charge will be reviewed every three years.
