GCC citizens, visa holders can leave and enter Saudi Arabia as of today

GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) citizens and non-Saudis who hold valid exit re-entry, work, residence or visit visas will be allowed to leave and re-enter the Kingdom starting today, Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday the partial lifting of travel restrictions from Sept. 15 and the total lifting of the restrictions effective from Jan. 1, 2021.

GCC citizens and non-Saudi citizens will be allowed to leave and re-enter the Kingdom on condition that they comply with coronavirus-related health precautions.

Entry to the Kingdom will be allowed on the basis of proof that they are free from coronavirus. A recent negative COVID-19 test result must be provided upon reaching the Kingdom. The test must be completed no later than 48 hours before arriving in the kingdom.

However, these exceptions do not apply to countries against which the committee concerned decides to take COVID-19 preventive measures by suspending travel, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the Kingdom.
