GDT launches digital driver’s license through “Absher Individuals” and “Tawakkalna” apps

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Traffic (GDT) has launched the digital version of the driver’s license through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic application “Absher Individuals” and the “Tawakkalna” application.

According to the GDT, security authorities have authorized the digital version of the driver’s license, which was developed in collaboration with the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA).

The digital version of the driver’s license can be used as a substitute for the driver’s license card, GDT said in a Tweet.

GDT added that the digital version of the driver’s license includes the QR Code and it can be saved to a smart device and used without requiring an Internet connection.

How to activate digital drivers license in Absher individuals app?

-Logging into the “Absher Individuals” app

-Go to “My Services“

-Click on “Activation of Digital ID“

-Select “Driver’s Licence“

-Click on “Activate“

That is it. You have now successfully activated the digital version of your driver’s license.
