Government fees on Iqama issuance temporarily excused

The General Administration for Passports announced Thursday that in cooperation with the National Information Center, it had decided to excuse private sector enterprises from paying government fees to issue Iqama to workers in the commercial and industrial professions for a period of three months starting on 18 March 2020.

The move includes delaying the levying of charges on certain government services to the private sector, which means the owner of an enterprise in the private sector will have the opportunity to issue Iqamas to his employees without paying government fees, which will be due in three months.

In a statement, the Passports Department said the move comes as part of efforts taken by the government of Saudi Arabia to reduce the economic and financial impacts on the private sector due to the precautionary measures taken to confront the spread of COVID-19.
