The Haramain train will be back on track in September, the Haramain High – Speed Rail Project administration said in a statement.
“Work is going on to meet the high demand and transport as many passengers as possible; between Makkah and Madinah by raising the trips’ capacity, covering all destinations. The period from July to August will also be utilized in increasing the capacity; in line with the best world standards,” the statement said.
It also stated that the exact dates for resuming and booking of tickets will be announced in due course of time. However, the statement said that e-tickets could be purchased through the Haramain Express Train website in August.

Over the past few days, the kingdom has been witnessing a steady fall in new coronavirus cases. There are 87,142 Covid-19 cases reported in Saudi Arabia so far and 22,311 cases are currently active.
