Traffic authorities in Saudi Arabia have prepared a list of penal measures for new traffic violations that will be announced shortly, according to local media reports.
The new regulations will clamp heavy penalties for speeding, not fastening seat belts, and driving in the wrong direction, Sabq Online reported.
The source added that the new fine for driving in the wrong direction would be SR 6,000. The same amount will be imposed on violations of not displaying a front or rear number plates.
Workshops will receive a 10,000SR penalty for repairing vehicles without a repair permit from the traffic department.
