The first step to stopping overthinking is to identify the thoughts that make you anxious. These thoughts are usually fear-based and not grounded in reality. The next step is to identify two or three things in your life which make you happy. These can be things like eating ice cream, listening to music, or cuddling with a pet. The final step is to commit these happy moments to memory by repeating them over and over in your head when the negative thoughts come up instead of focusing on them.
