HR ministry reports 14,000 violations in Riyadh

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s Riyadh branch said that during 2020 its inspection department reported 14,053 violations and 9,592 warnings to private sector businesses.

The violations reported in the Riyadh region include hiring expatriates in jobs restricted to citizens, employers not providing the required health care or precautionary and preventive measures, and failure to open a file for the enterprise in the labor office.

Violations also include failure to update business data, nonpayment of salaries, employers enabling expatriates to work in a profession other than the one mentioned in their work permit, operating without a license, and hiring male employees in jobs exclusively for females.

HRSD said it would continue its inspections to ensure enterprise owners’ compliance with the ministry’s decisions and improve the work environment.
