The Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants says in the first 3 days of Muharram 1441, there were 5000 expatriate accounting professionals registered with the SOCPA, Al Eqtisadiah reported.
Upon beginning of this Hijri year 1441, the Saudi Authorities made mandatory registration with SOCPA for accounting professionals living and working in Saudi Arabia.
As of 31-08-2019 no Iqama or work permit will not be issued or renewed to accounting professionals without completing the registration with SOCPA.

There are more than 120,000 expatriate accountants working in Saudi Arabia. The new initiative is expected to eliminate unqualified expat accountants in the Kingdom.
