India records more than 400,000 coronavirus cases in 24 hours

India recorded over 400,000 new Covid cases in 24 hours for the first time on Saturday.

According to the health ministry, 401,993 new coronavirus infections were reported, bringing the total number of cases to 19.1 million. According to official data, India has administrated 154,989,635 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so far.

India recorded about seven million new infections in April alone.
However, in comparison to many other countries, India’s caseload remains low per capita.
