Jawazat extends Iqamas and visas of expats stuck in travel-restricted countries

The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) announced a free extension of the validity of residence permits, exit-re-entry visas, and visit visas of expats stranded in countries facing a travel ban in accordance with King Salman’s directives.

Jawazat stated that the validity of Iqamas of resident expats stranded in countries with travel bans will be extended until June 02, 2021.

Exit re-entry visas also will be extended until 02 June 2021, Jawazat added.

Furthermore, the validity of visit visas of expats outside the kingdom from countries with travel bans will be extended until June 2, 2021.

The extension will be done automatically, requiring no visits to Jawazat offices and no payment of fees or fines, Jawazat added.

The move is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to address the effects and consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and with precautionary and preventive measures that ensure the safety of citizens and residents and contribute to mitigating economic and financial impact.
