King Salman has approved increasing funds allocated for the Iftar (Breaking-fast meal) Project to SR5 million, which will be implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in 18 countries around the world.
The project aims to provide Iftar food for 1 million people as part of the plan of the Saudi Ministry during the holy month of Ramadan 2020.
The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Ash-Sheikh expressed his thanks and appreciation to King Salman for his continued support of the ministry’s various works and programs in serving Islam.
He also confirmed that the Ministry has completed preparations to implement the project in 18 countries through religious attachés offices in the Kingdom’s embassies and Islamic centers that are under the Ministry’s supervision in a number of countries worldwide.
The Minister added that the implementation of the project this year will be through the distribution of food baskets according to precautionary measures being taken in those countries to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
