King Salman imposes curfew for 21 days to tackle coronavirus

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered a curfew from 7 pm until 6 am for a period of 21 days, effective from Monday evening (23 March 2020), to limit the spread of coronavirus in the Kingdom.

The curfew will apply every day from 7 pm until 6 am and last for an initial period of three weeks from Monday.

The Ministry of Interior shall take the necessary measures to implement the curfew, and all civil and military authorities must cooperate fully with the Ministry in this regard, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Employees of important public and private sectors and members of the security, military and media have been excluded from the curfew. Workers in the sensitive health and service sectors have also been excluded from the curfew.

The ministry urged citizens to stay in their homes, especially during the curfew, and not to leave except in cases of necessity.
