Saudi Arabia has no plans to cancel the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines, the Ministry of Health spokesman Dr. Mohammed al-Abd al-Ali said during today’s press conference.
He confirmed that what is being circulated regarding the cancellation of the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine is untrue.
He explains that the second dose was delayed in order to allow a large number of people to receive the first dose, thereby increasing community immunity against the virus.
He added that the total number of doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in the Kingdom now stands at 12.82 million.
The health ministry confirmed 1,067 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, along with 895 recoveries and 12 new deaths.
