SR 10,000 fine for those trying to perform Umrah without permits

The Ministry of Interior on Thursday announced that fines will be imposed on those who enter Makkah to perform Umrah or prayer at the Grand Mosque without a valid permit during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Interior Ministry said those caught while entering Makkah to perform Umrah without a permit during the holy month of Ramadan will be fined SR 10,000.

The ministry added that anyone who enters the Grand Mosque in Makkah to perform prayers without a permit will also be fined SR 1,000.

According to the ministry, the new regulations will remain in effect until the pandemic is over and public life returns to normal.

The ministry urged citizens and expatriates to follow the instructions and use the Eatmarna application to obtain a permit to perform Umrah and pray at the Grand Mosque.
