The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has extended the deadline for paying the expatriate levy (Work Permit Fee) by six months.
The Labor Ministry confirmed that the levy can be paid in three installments. The new increased levy takes effect on January 1, 2018.
The new move will give great relief to both employers and employees.
According to the Ministry, businesses with a minimum 50% Saudi workforce will pay a monthly levy of SR300 per expatriate worker in 2018. For businesses that employ more expatriates than Saudis, the annual levy will be SR400 per month. This fee will increase to SR500 and SR600 in 2019, and to SR700 and SR800 in 2020.
