More than 250,000 expats left the labor market in the third quarter of 2020

According to a survey conducted by the General Authority for Statistics, the number of expatriates working in Saudi Arabia dropped by 257,200 during the third quarter of 2020 compared to the second quarter.

However, the number of Saudi citizens employed in the labor market rose by 81,900 in the third quarter, reaching 3.25 million in the same period.

During the second and third quarters of last year (2020), the coronavirus pandemic affected the labor market.

Saudi Arabia today confirmed 186 new coronavirus cases, 211 recoveries, and two deaths. There are currently 2,080 active Covid-19 cases in the kingdom, of which 331 are critical cases.
