Muslims are “a few days away” from being allowed to pray again at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, said Sheikh Sudais.
The head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, was seen in a video that went viral on social media, answering a reporter’s question about the possibility of having worshippers gather at the mosque again.
He said people will soon be allowed back into the mosque for prayers and circumambulation (Thawaf) around the holy Kaaba.
The authorities are more concerned about people than anything else, he said. “All Muslims should pray to Allah to help us through this pandemic. People must be careful and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and others,” he added.
