Over 87,000 Indians repatriated from Saudi Arabia

Over 87,000 Indians have been repatriated from Saudi Arabia to India so far through more than 480 flights, said Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Ausaf Sayeed.

According to the Ambassador, “As regards to the repatriation of Indians through the Vande Bharat Mission, more than 87,000 Indian nationals have been repatriated to India from different international airports in Saudi Arabia, thus far via more than 480 flights, out of a total of 162,000 Indians who had registered for repatriation to date.”

The Ambassador thanked the Kingdom’s General Authority of Civil Aviation for their support and coordination to undertake and execute a huge operation.

India’s civil aviation ministry started the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM) to repatriate Indian nationals, especially from the Middle-East.

The Vande Bharat Mission’s 6th Phase is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2020, and will be carried out by October 24, 2020.

India’s Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted that more destinations will be added under this new phase.
