How to Register With Mandatory Emigrate System for Indian Expatriates

eMigrate System

As per the Ministry of External Affairs India, starting from January 1, 2019, registration with eMigrate system is mandatory for all Indian nationals holding an employment visa in all the 18-emigration check required (ECR) countries including Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries. Expats with a valid employment visa have to register on the portal www.emigrate.gov.in while dependents and people on investor visas were exempted from the registrations.

All Indian expatriates working in Saudi Arabia have to do this mandatory one-time registration. Failure to register will result in the off-loading of unregistered Indians at all international airports across India, starting January 1, 2019.

The applicant must register on the eMigrate website either 21 days or 24-hours before travel. It is a one-time registration.

However, if there is a change in employment status or change in the job on their return, the registration needs to be repeated.

It is very important to register for both newcomers and existing expatriates.

For registration, you need an Indian mobile number to receive a one time password (OTP), which you may use your any of friends or relatives number.
