Riyadh police arrest 5 for stealing SR 1.4 million from ATM

Riyadh police have arrested 5 people of an 11 member gang for blowing up and stealing more than 1.4 million riyals from an Arab National Bank (ANB) ATM in Al Jazira, Riyadh.

Six other people have already fled Saudi Arabia with SR 500,000 according to Riyadh police spokesman Col. Shaker Bin Suleiman Al-Tuwaijri.

The criminal gang included four Egyptians, two Saudi nationals, a Yemeni, a Bulgarian and a Russian citizen.

Five members of the criminal gang were arrested along with SR 700,000 of stolen cash, vehicles and tools used in the robbery.

A team that specializes in criminal investigations has identified this gang and authorities are currently working to bring back the remaining members of the gang and recover the smuggled money,” said Col. Shaker Bin Suleiman Al-Tuwaijri.
