
Riyadh police arrest six Bangladeshis for dealing fraudulent SIM cards
Six Bangladeshi expats have been arrested in Riyadh for dealing with fraudulent SIM cards, local media reported.
They were arrested for conducting dealings in mobile SIM cards obtained using the identity cards of citizens and expatriates without their knowledge, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a spokesperson for the Riyadh Region Police Lt. Col. Shaker al-Twaijri as saying on Saturday.
He added: “The authorities seized 577 various SIM cards of different telecom companies, a large number of printed fingerprints for unidentified persons, photographs of identity cards, a laptop, printers and barcode readers in the possession of the arrested residents.
“They were taken into custody and regulatory measures were taken against them before they were reported to the Public Prosecutor.”
