Roof of Prophet’s Mosque reopened to worshippers

Worshippers are now allowed to perform prayers on the roof of the Prophet’s Mosque in the holy city of Madina.

The General Presidency of the Prophet’s Mosque Affairs has given worshippers access to the roof to attend the congregation prayers of Fajr, Maghreb, Isha and Friday prayers by complying with precautions against the coronavirus, according to an official.

The roof of the Prophet’s Mosque can accommodate around 10,000 people. Several entrances have been equipped with thermal cameras and personnel to enable safe access.

Those wishing to perform their prayers on the roof can access it through entrances 5, 8, 21, 34, and 37.

In recent weeks, the kingdom has seen a significant drop in daily virus infection rates.
