According to the Ministry of labor and Social Development, Saudization in the hospitality sector began Friday 27 December 2019.

The ministry aims to bring 100 per cent Saudization into the aforesaid sector in the first phase.

The Saudiazation will apply to hotels and resorts rated three stars or higher, and furnished apartments rated four stars or higher. Positions that must be filled by Saudis range from front-desk jobs to management.

Among the exceptions are drivers, doormen and porters, the ministry said in a statement. Other jobs that will be restricted to nationals include restaurant hosting and health club supervisors.
