Saudi Customs has relaxed precautionary measures and restrictions on trucks coming from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
A circular issued by Saudi Customs to officials at all entry points says all trucks carrying goods destined for Saudi Arabia can enter through its land ports, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The only condition for entry is that drivers are subjected to coronavirus medical checks. This relaxation has been approved by the authorities on the basis of the recommendations of the Council of Political and Security Affairs.
It is worth noting that, following the pandemic, Saudi Customs introduced a number of controls and restrictions on freight traffic through land ports to implement the recommendations of the relevant committee. However, exemptions were issued for trucks carrying essential goods such as food, medicine, medical and relief supplies.
