King Salman has approved the extension of the validity of the final exit visa for expatriates in Saudi Arabia until October 31,2020 without any fees, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The extension has been conducted automatically in cooperation with the National Information Center without the need for expatriates to show up in person at the offices of the General Directorate of Passports. Some 28,884 such visas have been extended so far, according to the SPA.
The move is part of the Kingdom’s efforts to address the impact of the new global coronavirus pandemic by complying with virus precautions.
Thousands of expatriates are stranded in Saudi Arabia after the kingdom suspended international flights in March as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
