What is institutional quarantine?
This is a clear restriction on people’s activities, with the goal of preventing unexposed members of the community from contracting the disease if any person at risk becomes ill.
This is especially important for people who have come into contact with someone who has COVID-19 signs and symptoms is sick with the disease, or has traveled to an area where COVID-19 is prevalent.
This means staying at a facility designated by the government for 14 days without interacting with family members or the general public.
Institutional quarantine is intended to aid in the early detection of COVID-19-related illness and to prevent its spread in communities, to loved ones, and/or to other countries or areas.
