Saudi Arabia recognizes Covaxin for Travel

Saudi Arabia has approved India-made Covaxin for travel. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia made the announcement on Dec 20 that Indian citizens who are fully vaccinated with Covaxin can enter Saudi Arabia without any restrictions.

The Embassy tweeted that Indian nationals who have been vaccinated with Covaxin are now approved to enter the Kingdom. The certificate proving the vaccine is to be uploaded at https://eservices.moh.gov.sa/CoronaVaccineRegistration for residents and at https://muqeem.sa/#/vaccine-registration/home for visitors.

Covaxin by Bharat Biotech

Covaxin is India’s first indigenous COVID-19 vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – National Institute of Virology (NIV). As of October 2021, 110.6 million people in India have received Covaxin. On 3 November 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) validated the vaccine for emergency use.
