Saudi Arabia has shipped 80 metric tonnes of liquid oxygen to India, which is facing an oxygen shortage due to a record number of Covid-19 cases.
The official Twitter account of the Indian Embassy in Riyadh on Saturday tweeted: “Embassy of India is proud to partner with Adani group and M/s Linde in shipping much needed 80MT liquid oxygen to India. Our hearfelt thanks to Ministry of Health Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for all their help, support and cooperation.”
According to India’s Adani Group, the first shipment of four ISO cryogenic tanks filled with 80 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen is already on its way from Dammam to Mundra port in Gujarat. The group is also expecting 5,000 medical-grade oxygen cylinders from Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, India confirmed 346,786 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, bringing the total to 16,960,172.
