Saudi Arabia to implement midday work ban from June 15
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) announced on Friday that a three-month midday outdoor work ban will come into force from Tuesday, June 15.
The three-month ban on working under the sun between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. for employees of all businesses will remain in effect until Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
According to the ministry, the decision aims to protect the safety and health of workers in the private sector. It is in line with the ministry’s commitment to provide them with a healthy and safe work environment and to protect them from any risks and harm as part of the safety and occupational health considerations.
The ministry calls upon employers to organize work hours and implement what is stipulated in this decision, as the ministry strives to provide a work environment that is safe from various occupational hazards.
