Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has launched an initiative to Saudize 28 professions in the air transport sector to create 10,000 jobs for Saudi citizens in the next three years, local media reported.
The professions include pilot, flight attendant, air traffic controller, supervisor, flight yard coordinator, ground handling services, handling of cargo, luggage and passengers, flight catering and other professions related to the air transport sector.
The new initiative is part of strengthening the civil aviation sector to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
GACA has directed all airlines, maintenance and operations contractors, and service providers working at all Saudi airports to start implementing the initiative.
“Working teams have been assigned to monitor and follow up on the implementation of the initiative on a monthly basis as well as to prepare reports and submit them to the authorities,” the authority said in a statement.
