Saudi Arabia’s 4G mobile network coverage has reached 90 percent, said Abdulaziz Al-Ruwais, governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
Mobile subscriptions hit 49.7 million, with a voice service penetration rate of 127 percent across the Kingdom.
The average mobile internet speed hits 31.06 megabit/second (Mb/s).
Additionally, over 15 million terabytes of data were used, with 54 percent and 46 percent for fixed-line and mobile networks, respectively, Al-Ruwais added during the 2019 ICT Indicators event.
Furthermore, the telecom ministry is working to improve internet speed 150% over last year.
In May 2018, the telecom sector regulator issued temporary 5G licenses to the country’s mobile operators to conduct 5G mobile trials.
