Saudi Arabia’s national carrier Saudia has sparked hope for the resumption of international flights and travel outside the Kingdom for Saudi citizens by tweeting to ask “Have you packed your bags.”
The airliner company asked users on Saturday if they had prepared their luggage, implying an impending decision to allow Saudi citizens to fly.
Many users responded by sharing photographs of suitcases in anticipation of the travel ban being lifted.
The Board of Directors of Saudi Arabian Airlines, chaired by Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser, met recently to discuss preparations for the resumption of international flights next month.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia had revised the date for allowing Saudi citizens to travel abroad, fully lifting the suspension of international flights, and reopening the Kingdom’s airports to May 17, 2021.
