Shoura Approves Flour Sector Privatization, Khubz Prices Will Increase

Saudi Arabia’s supreme council, Shoura, approves privatization of the flour sector.

Prior to privatization, the Shoura approved the new 29 article law by Monday.

The new regulation is to encourage the setup of new flour mills in the private sector and to encourage private investment in the sector.

Shura Council members have expressed concern that the subsidies will be stopped by privatization and the price hike of khubz, one of the essential food commodities of common people, will directly affect them.
