The Ministry of Finance officially announced that the new increased expat levy (work permit fee) will start collecting from January 01, 2018.
The Ministry announced it through their twitter account.
The new levy amount ranged from 300 SR to 400 SR. The new levy will replace the current 200 SR levy.
If a company or Establishment has more than 50% of their total number of employees are Saudi nationals, they will have to pay a 300 SR levy to their expatriate workers.
If a company or Establishment Saudi workforce is less than 50%, will have to pay SR 400 for their expatriate workers, most of the companies will come under this category.
The levy will gradually increase until 2020.
