Taking Covid vaccine does not break Ramadan fast, says Grand Mufti

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, and President of the Council of Senior Scholars said that the corona vaccine does not break the fast.

His explanation came as a response to a question, “Does the corona vaccine break the Ramadan fast?”.

“The Covid-19 vaccine does not invalidate the fast of a fasting person because it is not considered as food and drink. The vaccine is intramuscularly administered, so it does not invalidate the fast,” Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh said.
