Penalty for not keeping a safe distance between two vehicles

Traffic authorities in Saudi Arabia announced through the official Twitter account that, if a driver is not keeping a safe distance between his vehicle and the vehicle in front of him, it is a traffic violation and that would attract a penalty ranging from SR 150 to SR 300.

Saudi Arabia has recently begun an automatic system for monitoring road lanes to spot motorists who deviate among lanes without signalling. Initially, it was launched in three cities in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah and by Jan.1 it will be implemented in other parts of the kingdom as well.
