Saudi Postal Codes — Complete Guide for Expats (2026)

Saudi Arabia's postal code system, managed by Saudi Post Limited (SPL), covers every city, town, and district across all 13 administrative regions of the Kingdom. Whether you're registering your Iqama address, opening a bank account, or receiving international deliveries, knowing your correct postal code is essential.

How to use this postal code finder

Select your region from the first dropdown, then choose your city or town. The tool will display all post offices serving that area, along with their 5-digit postal codes, operating hours, phone numbers, and a Google Maps link for directions.

Which postal code should I use?

If multiple post offices appear for your city, use the one that covers your district (حي). The district name is shown under each office. If you are unsure, the main city office (usually the first result) is the safest choice for general correspondence. For banking and Absher registration, use the full 9-digit code found on your building's green National Address plate.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Saudi postal code (also called a ZIP code) is a 5-digit number assigned by Saudi Post (SPL) to identify a specific geographic area. Reading left to right: the first digit represents the postal region, the second and third digits identify the main city or post office, and the fourth and fifth digits indicate the postal zone or district. The system was introduced in 2005 as part of the National Address initiative and covers all 13 administrative regions of the Kingdom.
Use the Finder tab above — select your region then city to see all matching post offices and codes. You can also check the green National Address plate on your building exterior, visit splonline.com.sa, use the Tawakkalna app under 'My Address', or search your address in Google Maps (the postal code appears in the address info panel).
The Short Address (الرمز المختصر) is an 8-character code consisting of 4 letters and 4 numbers (example: RNMA7272) that precisely identifies your building within Saudi Arabia's National Address system. From January 1, 2026, the Transport General Authority (TGA) mandated that all parcel delivery companies must reject shipments that do not include a valid National Address. This applies to all couriers including Aramex, DHL, SMSA, FedEx, and Saudi Post itself. You can get your Short Address from splonline.com.sa, Absher, Tawakkalna, or Sehhaty apps.
According to SPL's official open data — which powers this page — there are 529 post office branches across all 13 administrative regions of Saudi Arabia. Some sources cite a higher number of service points when including partner locations and doorstep branch services. For the nearest branch to you, use the Post Office Locator tab above or visit splonline.com.sa/en/nearest-branch/.
Not always. Large cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam have multiple postal codes covering different districts and zones. For example, Riyadh alone has codes ranging from 11xxx to 14xxx depending on the district. Smaller towns typically share a single postal code for the entire area. Use the Finder tab above to see all offices and codes specific to your city.
SPL stands for Saudi Postal and Logistics Services Company (شركة البريد السعودي للخدمات اللوجستية). It was rebranded from Saudi Post to SPL in 2021 following a strategic transformation under Royal Decree No. 52631 in 2017, aligning with Vision 2030. SPL is responsible for mail delivery, courier services, e-commerce logistics, National Address management, and third-party logistics across the Kingdom. Their toll-free number is 19992.
You can register or update your National Address through any of these official channels: the SPL website (splonline.com.sa), the Saudi Post app, Absher Individuals portal, Tawakkalna app, Sehhaty app, or Nafath. You will need your Iqama (for expats) or National ID, and the building number and postal code from the green address plate on your building's exterior wall. Expats can register up to two addresses.
From January 1, 2026, a postal code alone is no longer sufficient for parcel deliveries in Saudi Arabia. The TGA now requires all delivery companies — including DHL, FedEx, Aramex, and SMSA — to include the full National Address (Short Address) on every shipment or risk rejection. For domestic mail and PO Box correspondence, the 5-digit postal code remains valid. Always provide your Short Address (e.g. RNMA7272) when ordering from Amazon.sa, Noon, or international retailers.
Smaller towns and villages may not have a dedicated SPL branch and are served by the nearest city office. The 529 offices in this list are taken from SPL's official open data and cover the main administrative centres. Newer developments and residential compounds in rapidly growing areas like NEOM may not yet appear. For your nearest serving branch, visit splonline.com.sa/en/nearest-branch/ or call SPL on 19992.
No — they are related but different. The postal code (5 digits) identifies your general area or district. The National Address is a complete, standardised address system that includes your building number, street name, district, city, postal code, and a unique Short Address code (4 letters + 4 numbers). Think of the postal code as one component of your full National Address. For most official purposes in Saudi Arabia from 2026 onwards, you need the full National Address, not just the postal code.
