Eid-Al-Fitr 2024: Expected Date in KSA

Eid Al Fitr, the festival that marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims, is likely to fall on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Saudi Arabia. This festive occasion commences with the sighting of the new crescent moon, signaling the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic calendar.

Astronomers from the Arab world have predicted April 10 as the most probable date for Eid Al Fitr this year, based on lunar calculations. However, the final determination of the Eid date rests with the Saudi Supreme Court, which will officially announce the commencement of Eid Al Fitr after the moon is sighted.

In preparation for the festivities, the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has announced a four-day holiday for the private and non-profit sectors. This holiday is set to begin at the end of the workday on April 8, allowing residents and citizens to prepare for and celebrate Eid Al Fitr with family and friends.

Eid Al Fitr is not just a time of celebration but also a period for reflection, gratitude, and community. It is customarily marked by communal prayers, feasts, and the giving of charity to those in need, embodying the spirit of generosity and compassion.
