6-Month Grace Period to Fix Status of Absent Domestic Workers

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has started a 6-month grace period from today (Sunday) for domestic workers reported as absent from work (huroob) who are still living in the Kingdom.

This new step gives both domestic workers and employers a chance to correct their legal status. The full process can be done online using the official Musaned platform.

If a worker was reported huroob before today, but did not leave the country, they can now transfer to a new employer. The new employer must complete the required steps through Musaned to make the transfer official.

The ministry says this move is meant to improve the work environment and make sure the rights of both workers and employers are protected.

This grace period will only apply to workers who were reported as absent before the date of this announcement.

All steps must be done through the Musaned platform. This is a good chance for workers and employers to solve legal issues and move forward with clear status.
