Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) has announced a 60-day grace period for Huroob(runaway) foreign workers to correct their status through the Qiwa platform. This campaign runs from December 1, 2024, to January 29, 2025.
Workers with absence reports can use this period to transfer their services to a new employer. The Qiwa platform urged eligible workers to act quickly and complete the transfer before the deadline. The initiative aims to improve labor stability, align workers’ status with regulations, and offer an additional chance to change employers.
Qiwa provides digital services to protect the rights of both employees and employers. It also supports a stable and attractive working environment. As part of the campaign, the ministry is sending text messages to inform affected workers about this opportunity to correct their status.
The Qiwa platform offers features like salary certificates and experience records. Workers can request these documents for free through their Qiwa Individuals account. To request a certificate, workers need to log in, access the services menu, choose job certificates, and specify the required type. The process is simple and ensures accurate verification by the employer.
This campaign reflects Saudi Arabia’s efforts to streamline labor relations and offer support to expatriate workers while ensuring compliance with the law.
