According to Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society, the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah is expected to be visible on the morning of Tuesday, May 27. If confirmed, Wednesday, May 28 will mark the first day of Dhul Hijjah. Since Eid al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, this places the holiday on Friday, June 6, 2025.

The official dates, however, will only be confirmed by the Supreme Court following the sighting of the crescent moon closer to the time.

In Saudi Arabia, Eid al-Adha holidays for the private sector typically begin on Arafat Day and last for four days. This means private sector employees can expect their holidays to begin on Thursday, June 5, and continue through the weekend.

The Saudi Central Bank has already announced that the Eid holidays for financial institutions will begin on Thursday, June 5, 2025, and end on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
