Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced a four-day holiday for Eid Al-Fitr covering employees in the private sector and non-profit organizations.
Mohammed Al-Rizqi, ministry spokesman, said the holiday will begin at the end of the working day on Wednesday, March 18, corresponding to Ramadan 29.
The four-day holiday duration follows approved regulations and bylaws, according to Al-Rizqi. He emphasized that employers must comply with the provisions of paragraph two of Article 24 of the Executive Regulations of the Labor Law.
Eid Al-Fitr in Saudi Arabia may fall on Thursday, March 19, 2026, if the crescent moon marking the start of Shawwal is sighted on the evening of Wednesday, March 18. The exact date will be confirmed by the Supreme Court after the official moon sighting.
If the moon is not sighted on March 18, Ramadan will complete 30 days and Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2026. As with every year, the final announcement will depend on the official moon sighting in the Kingdom.
