The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has announced the launch of the fourth phase of the electronic wage transfer service for domestic workers through officially approved platforms, starting today (Wednesday).
The initiative is designed to protect workers’ rights regarding salary payments and to strengthen transparency in contractual relationships between employers and domestic workers.
Full implementation by January 2026
According to the ministry, the fourth phase applies to employers who have two or more domestic workers. This comes as part of a gradual rollout that began in earlier stages. The service will be extended to all domestic workers by January 1, 2026.
The HRSD confirmed that salaries will be transferred electronically through the Musaned platform, using secure and approved channels such as digital wallets and participating banks. This step aims to ensure timely and documented payments while streamlining procedures for both employers and workers.
Key benefits of the wage transfer service
The electronic wage transfer system provides several advantages, including:
- Salary documentation: Ensures wages are paid regularly and officially recorded.
- Simplified legal processes: Facilitates procedures when the employment relationship ends or when the worker departs the Kingdom.
- Secure international transfers: Allows workers to send salaries to their families abroad through official channels.
These benefits improve transparency, safeguard rights, and provide legal protection for both workers and employers.
Part of Saudi Vision 2030 goals
The HRSD highlighted that the initiative supports its broader efforts to develop automated services via the Musaned platform, enhance user experience, and increase efficiency. The project also aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to modernize the labor market and raise the overall quality of life in the Kingdom.
