A lot of people still book Saudia flights through a travel agent out of habit. It works, but you’re often paying more than you need to — and missing out on fare options that are only available directly through Saudia’s own website and app.
This guide covers everything from searching for flights to confirming payment, so you can do it yourself in a few minutes.
Where to Book
You have two official options for booking directly with Saudia:
- Saudia website: www.saudia.com
- Saudia mobile app: Available on both Android and iOS. The app stores your passenger details, lets you scan your credit card via camera, and supports all major payment methods.
Booking direct is worth it — some fare types, like the Economy Saver, are only available on the official website and app, not through third-party platforms.
Step-by-Step: How to Book a Saudia Flight Online
Step 1 — Start Your Search
Go to saudia.com and click the “Book” option on the homepage. Select your trip type — one-way, round trip, or multi-city — then enter your departure and arrival cities, travel dates, and number of passengers (adults, children, infants).
Step 2 — Browse and Select a Flight
Click “Search Flights” to see available options. Results will show you flight times, durations, stops (if any), and fare types side by side. Pick the flight that works best for your schedule and budget, then click “Continue”.
Step 3 — Choose Your Fare Type
This is where it pays to read carefully. Saudia offers branded fare families across cabin classes. For Economy (Guest Class), the options are:
- Saver: The cheapest option. Includes hand baggage (7 kg) and meal service on eligible routes. No checked baggage included — you can add it for a fee. Not refundable and no changes allowed. Only bookable on saudia.com or the app.
- Basic: Includes checked baggage and some flexibility for changes, with applicable fees.
- Semi-Flex: More flexibility than Basic, with lower change fees and partial refund options.
- Flex: The most flexible option. Includes free seat selection, higher baggage allowance, better AlFursan miles accrual, and the ability to change or cancel with no penalty fees.
Business Class offers Basic, Semi-Flex, and Flex. First Class is available in Flex only.
If your travel dates are fixed and you’re confident you won’t need to change, Saver or Basic can save you money. If there’s any chance your plans might shift, Flex is worth the premium.
Step 4 — Add Extras
After selecting your fare, you’ll have the option to add:
- Extra or pre-paid checked baggage
- Preferred seat selection (included free with Flex; chargeable on other fare types)
- Wi-Fi connectivity cards (available on select flights)
Step 5 — Enter Passenger Details
Fill in the required information for each passenger:
- Full name (as it appears on your passport)
- Passport number and expiry date
- Nationality
- Email address and phone number
- AlFursan frequent flyer number (if applicable — add this to earn miles)
Make sure all details match your travel documents exactly. Errors here can cause problems at check-in.
Step 6 — Pay for Your Booking
Saudia supports several payment methods for online bookings:
- Credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express
- Mada debit cards: Co-branded Mada/Visa or Mada/Mastercard cards issued by Saudi banks are accepted
- Apple Pay: Available for eligible devices
- SADAD: Complete your booking online, then pay through your bank’s online portal or at an ATM using the SADAD reference number provided (Saudia’s SADAD Biller Code is 22)
If paying by SADAD, make sure to complete the payment within the time limit shown — unpaid bookings may be cancelled automatically.
Step 7 — Confirm and Receive Your E-Ticket
Review your full booking summary — flight details, passenger names, baggage, and total cost — then click “Confirm Booking”. Once payment is processed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your booking reference number and e-ticket. Save this — you’ll need it for web check-in and at the airport.

Managing Your Booking After Purchase
You can access your booking at any time through the Manage Booking section on saudia.com. From there, depending on your fare type, you can:
- Change your flight date or route
- Add or upgrade baggage
- Select or change your seat
- Request a refund
- Check your booking status
Note that Saver fare tickets are not eligible for changes or refunds. For all other fares, change and cancellation fees vary — check the fare conditions in your booking confirmation before making any modifications.
AlFursan Frequent Flyer Programme
If you fly with Saudia regularly, it’s worth signing up for the AlFursan loyalty programme (free to join). You earn miles on eligible Saudia flights and partner services, which can be redeemed for free flights, cabin upgrades, extra baggage, and lounge access. Saudia is also a SkyTeam alliance member, so your miles can work across partner airlines too.
Always add your AlFursan number at the time of booking — miles can’t always be added retroactively without going through customer service.
Useful Contact Information
If you run into issues during booking or need to speak to someone, Saudia’s call centre is available 24/7:
- Within KSA (Jeddah, Riyadh, Dhahran): 9200 22222
- You can also find your nearest Saudia sales office through the website.
Quick Tips Before You Book
- Book early for better seat availability and lower fares, especially during Hajj, Eid, and summer travel season
- Double-check that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates
- Verify visa requirements for your destination before booking — Saudia is not responsible for passengers without valid documentation
- If you have a Mada card, confirm it’s co-branded (Visa or Mastercard) — plain Mada-only cards may not work on all international transactions
- The Saudia app is handy for managing your booking on the go and storing your boarding pass offline after check-in
Booking your Saudia flight online takes no more than ten minutes once you’re prepared. Keep your passport details handy, know which fare type suits your needs, and you’re good to go.
