The Saudi Water Authority has launched an incentive initiative to encourage individuals with unauthorized water and sewage connections to regularize their status with the National Water Company.
The initiative offers a three-month grace period, starting Sunday and ending on Monday, August 18. During this period, violators can apply to correct their records and connection data without incurring financial penalties or service fees.
The Authority, in collaboration with the National Water Company, has detected several cases of illegal connections where individuals, often with the help of laborers, connected their properties to public networks without proper authorization. These connections bypass billing and payment systems, constituting violations.
The Authority emphasized that unauthorized connections affect fair water distribution, disrupt service quality, reduce water pressure, and cause sewage overflows that harm public health and the environment.
After the grace period, authorities will begin enforcing penalties. Any unauthorized connection identified after August 18 will be subject to fines of up to 20 million Saudi Riyals.
The Authority urges violators to take advantage of the initiative and correct their service records through the National Water Company’s official channels, including its mobile application and online portal at e.nwc.com.sa.
